FAQ
What should I bring?
While there are no equipment requirements to participate in class, we do recommend the following:
Clean, indoor-only shoes, socks, or bare feet. The flooring that we use is designed for comfort and safety, and debris from the outside can easily damage it.
Comfortable clothes. You can wear pretty much anything that lets you move around easily. Krav Maga is designed to be useful in everyday situations, so there are no special uniforms.
Water, sports drink, etc. Bottled water is kept on hand, but it is good to bring your own beverage, and better for the environment!
A properly-fitted mouth guard.
A protective cup. While we do everything we can to avoid injury in class, accidents happen. Better safe than sorry.
Gloves. Some of the drills we do involve striking pads, bags, etc. and some people prefer the extra protection of an MMA-style glove.
A towel. We have paper towels, but many people prefer to bring their own.
What does it cost?
The first class is free! After that, classes are $20/each or you can get unlimited classes for $100/month. We accept cash, check, and all major credit cards.
Do you have a referral program?
Absolutely! We understand that the best advertising is via word of mouth. If you bring a new student to class, you will receive a free class or a one week extension of your unlimited classes.
When are classes?
We offer classes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 7:00PM to 9:00PM and Saturdays from 9:00AM to 11:00AM. This may change based on student feedback, holidays, weather, etc. so check here or on our Facebook page for updates.
How are classes structured?
Each 2 hour class is broken down into Core and Advanced A or Advanced B. The classes are on a 12 week cycle, with 12 weeks of Core and Advanced A, then 12 weeks of Core and Advanced B. A new week starts on Tuesday, with the same curriculum for the following Wednesday and Saturday. This schedule has several benefits; First, no matter when you start, you will eventually experience all of the class curriculum. Second, physical activities such as martial arts rely on muscle memory, which can only be established via repetition. By doing the classes on a cycle, existing students have the opportunity to improve the skills they have already learned in previous classes.
Who can take classes?
Everyone is welcome, regardless of experience, skill, or ability. Due to the mature nature of portions of the curriculum, anyone under 18 requires the consent of a parent or guardian. You will need to fill out a new student intake form before starting class, which can be done in person when you arrive, or downloaded here to be completed and brought with you to class.
Do you offer private classes?
We offer private classes and seminars for individuals and groups up to 12 people at our studio. We will also meet you at a location of your choice for any group size, provided that the location can safely accommodate everyone. Classes are customized to individual requirements, group size, age, ability, etc. Contact us for more information.
